Making a Mark in art direction

Mark Burgess reflects on his step up in the Banbury Howard studio.

Mark Burgess has recently taken on the important role of Art Director within the Banbury Howard studio. With a true love of the world of art and design and a keen eye for trends, Mark delivers fresh thinking to any brief. A skillset that has seen him enjoy a successful career as a Senior Designer.

Mark brings over 20 years of valuable industry experience to the agency, as well as a passion for sharing his knowledge with his creative peers. Kicking off his design career in London, Mark gained a degree in Art And Design at the renowned Kingston University.

He went on to hone his design skills in several well respected regional and London studios, including an extended stint as part of a creative team at the world-leading JWT agency.

Mark is also a keen sportsman, with a life-long passion for football. More recently he can be found holding court over a game of badminton. At 6’5 he uses his long reach to his advantage and fancies his chances against any challengers.

Mark has delivered creative solutions for a wide selection of well-known clients and market leading brands, including BT Group, HSBC Premier, National Express and Sky Movies, to name just a few. His work spans projects covering both offline and digital skill sets.

Of his new position at Banbury Howard, Mark said: “This new role has enabled me to put my skills to full use, helping others while exploring new areas too. I’ve effectively been able to add some new strings to my bow, including animation and digital skills.

“Developing professionally in a fun and friendly environment, my creative thought process is maturing to allow me to make sound judgment calls on what works for our clients and to share that knowledge with the team.”
